bringler26 Another thing that can be done is loosen the lugs and then lower the car and roll it a little in the driveway prolly slow. I usually use the big hammer and wood type method.

sailor This is why I always slather the mating surfaces (especially the hub center) with never-seize.

SOME have been bad enough to need a LARGE sledge hammer to get off....

Plastic dead blow hammer is my usual trick, but that doesn't always do it!

Add salt water to the dissimilar metals and you get a LOT of corrosion (that white stuff caked on from the aluminum corroding) - what a PITA!

mikebontoft note to anyone that ever has this problem with German cars or anything else that uses lug studs instead of lug nuts. LEAVE ONE IN when you're doing this.

I was working on a customers vehicle, an older Jetta and the passenger rear was stuck. this was on a lift and the wheels were about face level to me. I took a rubber mallet to the bottom front of the tire and the stupid thing flew off the hub... but for some reason my reflexes kicked in and I reached around as it flew off the hub. I ended up grabbing the face of the wheel assembly with my left hand twisted all the way around. it hurt a little bit... but I saved it and looked badass in the process. haha.

Mitch1989 Sounds like you need to put your purse down...LOL

All kidding aside, I think your question has been answered. Just hit it pretty hard on the inside towards the out w/ a rubber mallet or lay a 2x4 piece diagonal and hit it.

sleepyboy Funny you mention that cause I did kick it one time in sandles and promptly went and grabbed a hammer and some wood after that lol

mikebontoft It is advisable to wear shoes when trying to kick your tire. I mention this because no one on the forum wears shoes ever.

mikebontoft pretty common... called galvanic corrosion and it occurs between two dissimilar metals. just kick the crap out of it lol.
