My steering wheel vibrates while idling and you can even watch the water in my water battle shake in the console. Passengers have noticed but they say nothing is wrong. Supposedly have checked motor mounts. It is 2 years old and what makes it worse due to the vibration several rattles in the dash are fairly loud. It is pretty embarrassing since I use this for work (sales). I take clients out and they notice this. It is my 2nd Focus as I liked my first so much. I handed the first 2009 down to my son but may have to. Take it back as it does not have this problem.

And it gets better as the engine is warmed up which makes it difficult to take to the dealer to diagnose. I scheduled one appointment but they attributed it to a transient exhaust condition. Any ideas? I've seen a lot of discussion around motor mounts but the engine seems stable when it's running.

Mine vibrates while driving and of course you notice it more when idling. The RPM stay at 1 when idling. Is that normal? My gas mileage was better 9 only 2 miles but better before all this. I am really frustrated that WHILE it was under warranty the dealership could not feel it. I know when I go back in I will get charged just $95 for them to tell me yes it is vibrating or no. The local auto mechanic felt it and checked the motor mounts and said they look Ok. I noticed postings on this about the flywheel. Have no idea. It is so frustrating. I drove my last Focus to 125k miles and felt very good about handing down to my son. My other son needs a car and I told him go look for another. I am afraid it will be a money pit for him I am in the process of possibly trading. I want an Escape and have always had Fords but this experience along with taking 3x to fix the computer for shuttering has tainted me.

Anyway, thank's for mentioning that. I'm getting them replaced.

suv bilder Tell the dealer to look at the flywheel.... had a similar issue and after 10 mos of refusing to go away... they finally got serious. Found the flywheel wss underbalanced.... replaced the flywheel with the upgraded unit now available In the 2014 focus.

GET THE DEALER TO REPLACE THE FLYWHEEL.... IT IS THE UNDERLYING PROBLEM.!!!!!!!

Focus SEL Standard 2012 Vibration

I have a vibration issue as well. Started at about 20,000 Km.

Dealer replaced an engine mount, but problem still there. Dealer says on hoist, vibration occurs between 20k and 25K revs. I get it all the time when driving. Around town, it is barely tolerable, but once on the highway, the vibration moves up from the steering wheel into my arms and up from the pedals and the floor to my legs and after about 10 minutes it feels like my whole body is vibrating. Also starting to hear some squeaks and rattles that were not there before. I guess any machine that vibrates constantly will eventually start to loosen up. I have a call into Ford Tech Centre and they are going to talk to the dealer. Should hear back next week and will let you know the results. The car is basically undriveable on the highway.
