I figured while I have them apart I might as well black them out and put in better projectors. The retrofit look pretty straightforward aside from one small obstacle, there's a bracket in the headlight that both the high beam reflector and the original projector mount to. That bracket is going to interfere with the mounting of the mini H1, but its nothing that drilling an extra hole or two can't fix. This is my first retrofit and I'm confident that I should be able to pull it off with no problems.

You can take out that bracket and order the bracket that's compatible at theretrofitsource. They have them for specd and spyders.

Through email, tell them you want the bracket only from the specd retroquick. I think it's 20...

I researched for the best plan for an HID retrofit, and came to the same conclusion as you with the motimoto mini H1s. Then I saw a lot of the potential pitfalls that stood between me and an HID setup, and determined my skills weren't ready for it yet.

I chose the beginner stage. I kept them halogen and tinted the LEDs, turn sigals and reflectors.

Holy carp that looks so good! I still wish they made the Zetec S valance for the sedan. I don't like the new Zetec one as much as this one.

Hold brake, hold gas, should rev to 2-3k (can't remember as I've seen it but don't do it myself), let off brake. If you have S mode you may have to switch to that first.
