That's where it should be. That's what makes it a CAI not a WAI.

kemikalz great ideas. i think we can se the filter if i look under the car so im guessing theres not a skid plate or maby it fell off?? ..lol. but the sock im gonna look at or maby ill just make a skid plate and drill it on there.. but it is in front of the wheel just low i guess... thanks.

Graves can also drill drain holes in the shield

Marbs Do you have the skid plate still installed? I have CAI on my 06 with the skid plate and inner fender well it's nearly impossible for that filter to get wet. I've been in some pretty hard rain storms and I've never had an issue. You cn always buy one of those rain socks and put around the filter.

boardgeneration They make a prefilter sock for CAI's to help stop water from getting in.

rambleon84 The cai should be going towards the front bumper, more in front of the wheel well. There should be a splash shield on your car that will prevent water from hitting the CAI directly. The filter should not be getting wet to the point of its making your car lose power (or be sucking up water, that would be bad.)

katiekay Without knowing what brand of CAI you have, I can only show you what you would need:

That may not work with your cai, but I would go to the mfg's website and search for one of those for yours.
