UnleashedBeast The mpg in my 2012 Ti 18" sport suspension car is trending up now that the weather is cooler and I do not run the AC. When I first bought the car, mpg was terrible around 24 mpg. Even on the highway, I have never seen better than 34 mpg @ 80 mph. Obviously, that would improve if I slowed down to 65-70 mph. My car currently has 5,500 miles on it, so the engine may still be in the wear in period.

Here is my fuelly page with detailed notes for type of driving and what fuel was used.

Beast's Fuelly Page

I do know that using 93 octane did help a little and made the engine feel more powerful. Currently, with NO AC, I am averaging 29-30 mpg with 50/50 city/hwy mix. I will say that the Focus is the least expensive car (cost per mile) I have ever owned.

FordService Hey folks!

Those of you who are concerned about your MPG should check out these tips to improve on fuel economy: http://owner.ford.com/servlet/Conten...=1239636411265

If your Focus is still exhibiting below average MPG, reach out to me via PM and I'll see how I can help.

Thanks!

red-i I don't have the handling package but i'm getting right around 25mpg consistantly. every day is a short stint on the highway (about 10kms each way) but the rest is stop and go traffic.

thirdj I've been running 24-25 (26 on fuelly) all city lately, and I drive like a grandma now, funny thing is on a couple of tanks back I decided to be a lead foot and my gas mileage was about the same. all in all my fuelly average says 28. This may seem obvious, but check your tire pressure. Mine was low about at 30 psi when I checked last.

I run premium with a full K&N intake and catback 2.5" exhaust, it didn't make that much of a difference, especially around town.

The PS3'S are LRR rated, but I can't imagine the contact patch of an 8" tire having less resistance than that of a 7" or less tire. I would think that its Green-X rating comes in comparison to other 235mm tires.

Same with my girlfriend. Around town is about 27 -29. Freeway driving is around 35-37. You're fine.
