I just created an account to call you out on this.

No mazdaspeed has ever had adaptive HIDs. They have had ADJUSTABLE but not ADAPTIVE. And you can ONLY adjust them to 1 of 3 height settings... this to offset any added cargo weight.

Nope. So far the only fix I've found is to change lanes... My rear view mirror is auto-dimming but it's rendered basically useless because my side mirrors aren't auto-dimming.

tburns6 Its a good thing they dont have any on the lot with the 202a package or I would be in danger of impulse buy.... I had HID in my STi and I really miss them, they are well worth the money.

Where did it ever say the MS3 had adaptive HIDs? My 08 MS3 GT HIDs certainly (to my knowledge) didn't adjust brightness according to ambient light... in addition to that, the Focus lights are great, but the MS3 HIDs were still better, they had a decent cutoff, they were a bright white, and had a wider visibility cone.

Just my opinion I guess, but if they were cheaper I would easily swap out for OEM HIDs on the Focus. One of the many things about my MS3 that I miss.

Drop them in? Yes.

But the assemblies and requisite bulbs and ballasts current run 4,000 for both sides, straight off Fords part site.

There is no 3rd party doing retrofitted assemblies or custom ones. Which is odd, since even my Veloster already has a handful of places to get projector/HID/LED based assemblies.

Materials Hold

My Sales person just emailed me, now Ford is not being specific on what the delay is for the ST3 (202A) package.

all he is being told is its on "Material Hold".

Draw your own conclusions I guess.

Official Word on DELAY??

I searched all over the FORD website and I could not find anything indicating why the ST3 package was delayed.

Not HID lights, Recaro seats or any other indication.

Expected Delivery mid October

I ordered my ST with the 202A or ST2 package and my dealer in st. Louis told me not to expect the car to be delivered before the end of September most likely mid Oct.

I got the ST2 more for the heated seats then the HID lights.
