It has been a really mild winter this year, and it doesn't get that cold even in North Texas. We do normally get below freezing, but not that often and not long duration. I have gotten good mileage in winter before, even in ice and snow.

I would have gladly taken a hit on mileage IF it had fixed the problem, but it has not.

I am one of those people who tracks mileage every tank (I don't record it however), you can often spot problems by either a sudden or slow drop in mileage. Doesn't necessarily tell you what is wrong, but at least you know to start looking. I don't go by the instrument mpg display, it is always off at least by a bit.
No I hear ya. I print a receipt and sit in my car and do the math before resetting the tripometer. Maybe not every single tank but just about.

I shrug off the winters because of all the warming up and stop and go and varied traction but Spring through Fall I'm keeping an eye on all three vehicles.

I have had two clutch replacements and reprogramming so far and now only average ~29 mpg with about 75-80% of that highway miles on my 2013.

I used to be able to obtain 33-34 with mixed driving and would see about 37 mpg on highway only drives.

I am having issues for the third time, so maybe mpg will go back up after repairs, but I am doubtful.
You can try my custom tune , most say better MPG and I have had great results getting rid of the shudder and other DCT issues

The DCT equipped car with the 16" wheels is turning over at around 2600 rpm at 70 mph, the 5MT car with the same 16" wheels is turning over 3000 rpm at 70 mph, or 374 more revolutions per minute, and the gap only increases at higher speeds.

It might be old and dependable, but the gear ratios on the 5MT were essentially the same as my old 1994 Geo Prizm LSI 1.6 L. But that car weighed in at close to 570 or more pounds lighter than the new one, ergo it would be easier on gas in the city than the newer car.

j ferguson My guess is that my problem will turn out to be a bad connector which would explain why it only happens in rainy weather. But the service rep suggested the clutch so I thought I'd see whether the backlog issue had any merit. Apparently it does, but maybe if I need one, I'll get it right away.

I can hope.
