transitapparent Sounds do able in theory but here's the '15 grill ( no whiskers)

It's closed off at the ends on tge outside of the flaps so I drilled holes to open it up

Then after I reinstalled it, of the 11 holes I drilled, only 2 full ones and a couple of half holes are on the outside of the flap allowing air straight past the radiator to the filter

I'm drawing up plans to fab a new grille using the existing one for the mounting tabs. Once I finish that, I can do some cutting for a snorkel.

Mrlandy My duct is a printed s curve about the size of a rectangular downspout about 3"x 5" bolted right to stock connector. It fit in through the flap and the grill has lots of room to cut to a shelf on the bumper mount. I just had to pop rivet a piece of aluminum stock to hold it low and solid. It just rests on it. I blocked out the space around it on half of the grill with the leftover front end material and jb welded it in. Then plasti-dipped all but the snorkel. Snorkel wrapped in fiberglass insulation and wrapped in dance floor tape. Perfect for heat and seal

You definitely have to chop the grill for the st snorkel or the printed model floating around on the internet. The gutter material makes a perfect sized grill. Half of the grill goes to snorkel and half to radiator. Resonator plugged and air box sealed with K&N inside. Very quiet, throaty, my wheels chirp at takeoff. It's a different car from before snorkel. Can't wait for volo chip. I've noticed that I get about 26mpg around town, but the extra power is worth it.

I am going to try to modify the air box inlet like the focus 1.0 box to one giant tube. The two tiny tubes have got to be restricting flow. You should hear that thing suck in air when the engine revs. Whooosh.

transitapparent I was looking at it when I had the grille off last week. 1 there's not a lot of room. Any tubing would have to be pinched to fit.
2. I've got a K&N typhoon. I'd have to use the stock airbox or fab something up to actually make it functional....unless it was strictly for looks.
Even then, I'd have to figure something out with the grille since I've got a 15.

Mrlandy Check this out. It's a bit smaller than my printed one, but this would make a great snorkel with a few cuts and tweaks.

transitapparent Is it wrong to say that I get slightly aroused every time I see your snorkel? 😜

ChalupaJones I'm there with you, I've had my '12 since new and I'm only just getting a line on a header.

transitapparent I'm a slow starter. I like my new cars to look least for a little while lol. New car euphoria has worn off so the mods begin.
