azdamay Not sure about the legality here in CA of inching forward while making an unprotected left turn... but I know if you don't, the person behind you will just go around you, and then everyone else will follow suit. If you sit at the line and don't move, they're going to assume you are not even paying attention.

Never had to because they have never pulled me over for doing so.

Tymes I guess everywhere has their own laws on the left turn in the intersection. Here you are allowed to enter the intersection on green, and by law you must clear the intersection before or when the light turns red. By law here as long as you enter the intersection on green then you are not considered to be running the red, you are finishing your legally started turn. If the traffic on the other side continues to go right up to the red light, then you are considered to be in the right as it was not safe to proceed. Anyone entering the intersection on yellow and not clearing the intersection by the time the light turns red is the one breaking the law. But that is here.

And on a side note what I hate is people putting the feet on my dash, shoes or not, feet belong on the damn floor!!!

I get what you're saying man, but I've never met a police officer who'd ticket someone if they were already in the intersection. And the NYPD is full of hardasses...

RED: Stop behind crosswalk or stop line.
Not in the middle of the intersection.

5. Do Not Block: Do not move into an intersection and block
it after the traffic lights have changed. This is not only
common sense, but it’s also illegal to block an intersection
after the light has changed.
Guess what you were doing right after the light turned red and you waited for the last car to pass by before you could run the red light? You were illegally blocking the intersection.

however if you are already in an intersection, you are allowed to clear the intersection if the light turns red.

Doctor Drew Driving during rush hour traffic, stuck in the right lane, and the person in front of me SUDDENLY NEEDS TO TURN DOWN THIS SIDE STREET RIGHT NOW HOLY CRAP BRAKES!

But it's not the right street, so they slowly accelerate to the next one, blinker still on, but that's not the right street either.

Repeat this about 4 or 5 times and by then I can get over to a left lane, but I actually am turning right by this point.

RED: Stop behind crosswalk or stop line. Unless otherwise
posted, you may turn right on red after coming to a complete
stop and when no pedestrians or cross traffic are present.

There's a difference between "reasonable" and not...

I'm not asking folks to take the corner like Ken Block or anything...
