Ti/12 Winter tires are a great improvement over no-season tires. The upfront costs of 2 sets of tires sucks, but both sets last a lot longer. I have a set of Goodyear high performance winter tires for 3 winters now and they work great in the snow and they still handle great. They are not as grippy on ice, but still better than no-seasons. I chose not to get a blizzak style (better on ice) because most reports state that they wear faster and quickly get really noisy. At least that's what I found researching in 2012.

How low? Pictures would help.

You can drive lowered easily, as long as it's not "slammed". My biggest concern in the winter would be suspension travel since the roads get really rough, rather than ground clearance.

All season tires will work fine as long as they have enough tread left. Snow tires are just nice to have.

Frakus Where does the MN crowd gather online these days? I used to be a part of MNsportcompacts, but that was shut down years ago now.

OK, call me crazy! I just bought my third Focus. I bought a 2001 ZTS. So I now own 2 '01 ZX3's and a ZTS. My wife says she thinks I have an addiction. Any body looking for another? One may have to go.
