erato Since Norwegians and wagons seems to be the theme of the day; here's mine:




8 months and 10.000 trouble free miles, including a stint on German Autobahns.

I find wagons a very useful combination of external size, interior space, and plain usability, besides often looking better than most SUVS and sedans, and find it strange that they seem so little appreciated in the US. A SUV and a wagon are pretty different beasts (the wagon usually having better interior room though a lower seating position, aside from a much better ride and better fuel economy), and while I can see the SUV craze having killed off wagons in the US (and there's lots of SUVs in Norway too); I think maybe the SUV tide have peaked.

Sedans hasn't been popular here since the 80's. There is almost no sedans here (except old ones and Lexus). We have hatchback, wagon, MPV, SUV, etc...
Since it's barely 5 million lovers of lutefisk and/or smalahove, the market for a sedan isn't there...

The new Ford Focus is supposed to be a world car...
It has a big luggage compartment with a low and wide entry for loading.
So for family or small business use, this car is excellent.
Does Ford belive the market is to small in North America, or are "you Americans" so used to oversized vehicles, that you will not consider it as an alternative?

GhiaFan Rear seat headroom is a little better in the wagon, but leg room & passenger room front/back is the same as the hatch & sedan.
Focus wagon is in the same segments in Europe, as it would be in North America, VW Golf, Chevy Cruze , BMW 1 series, Audi A3, Volvo V40. All C segment or Compact class.
Full size wagons would be Mondeo, Accord, VW Passat, Mazda6, etc

The wagon has the exact same wheel base as the sedan and hatch, the wagon is about 0.6" longer than the Sedan, and over 7.5" longer than the hatch, all of that room is behind the rear passenger seats.

The current focus Estate has more rear cargo volume than the Kuga/ Escape, or at the very least the previous version of the Kuga which we never got here, but was within an inch in dimension to the US Escape at the time.

zx3_bmxrider Your wagon is so sexy. My family had a focus wagon until it got totaled. I sure do miss it...one of these wagons would make it easy to forget about though.

GrndZero Definitely one sexy ride. I would get a new wagon if they offered. I was really hoping they would bring an ST wagon here but god forbid Ford US do something cool for us. ST is nice but it is a little late in the coming. Hopefully it will open some more doors.
Only thing I would do is change the wheels and darken out the headlights. Wheels look good, I would just go with something different for my tastes.
Yours actually look pretty similar to those Volvo wheels above.

gsxrboy Absolutely crazy wagon, the color and rims are killer! I wish we had that option in Canada as well.
