zeicher yeah we did the bosch and then have picked up the last 2 O2 sensors and hose from the ford dealership. will try that this weekend and see what happens, along with cleaning the IAC

J0EC00L Also check all your vacuum lines. IAC is a good possibility. Clean the throttle body and IAC. Also, I second the Bosch O2's, my focus does not like them. I replaced 3 1 year before I went to a different brand. I had a similar issue with poor idle and CEL. I cant remember the code though. Mine was a vacuum leak.

sailor Reset to let the engine learn current condition quicker is simply by removing the battery negative terminal for a few minutes (5 at least) and then reconnecting it.

DON'T do this just before an inspection that includes an emissions check, since the computer will read out 'not ready" and you'll have to go back later (takes some drive cycles to complete all it's self checks).

zeicher Ecu?

zx003 After you did all those replacements, did you reset the ECU? I don't know if this will help but it's free and easy to do.

sleepyboy The Idle Air Control valve would be my next guess. You can try removing it and cleaning it. That may help or even fix it. They are kind of pricey so that's why a lot of us clean them. Most of the time it works. You can clean it with Brake Cleaner and a little brush. Here is a how to on replacing it. You don't have to take the intake manifold off but it's a tight squeeze. LINK

It's a how to on how to change the hose. This will help you find where the hose is so you can feel what shape yours is in and how to change it.
