Yeah, my wife was able to follow me there and back, so at least I wasn't stuck waiting on a shuttle. But that also effectively doubles the mileage/time wasted in taking the car in.

That long one was terrible - we had to carpool to work for a week, I had to shuffle appointments around, etc.

Hi SkyPilot and TiPilot,

I'm happy to step in here and escalate both of you to your regional Customer Service Managers. Give me some specifics in a PM, including VIN, mileage, preferred servicing dealer, and a daytime phone number. I'll make sure someone reaches out to you pronto.

Thanks,

I've worked with my CSM. I've worked with two dealers. It's been brought up every time the car's been in since I purchased it in January.

My new dealer (the second one) is great. Can't fault them. I intend on bringing up the new possibility of the heat shield being the culprit the next time the car's in. I'm just sick and tired of spending my time and money (it's 50 miles r/t) hauling this car to the dealer every couple weeks!

Dealer visits to date:
1/26 - car kept overnight (no loaner)
1/30 - car kept overnight (no loaner)
3/26 - car kept 10 days (only provided loaner for one day)
6/21 - car kept 2 days (no loaner)
7/?? - service completed while waiting
8/2 - service completed while waiting
8/17 - service completed while waiting
8/30 - car kept overnight (loaner provided)

So that's 8 trips in 8 months of owning the car, and I think I'm forgetting at least one trip. Not to mention 14 days the car was out of my possession - with a loaner provided for only two of them.

Quantos Well, I couldn't get to hear the sound when I came back from work yesterday; nor did it happen this morning nearly as bad as yesterday morning. I'm beginning to think it might have something to do with the temperature. It was pretty warm this morning and cold yesterday morning. Anyway, I'm ready to record anytime in case it happens again.

Also, I'll have a look at the plastic piece of the headrest.

I suppose so haha. You would think the side that gets more weight would have more stress and produce more noise. I guess not!

wgilles Interesting Constantine. I will give it a try and see if it helps. I had my suspicions about that piece actually. One time I thought I heard it coming from behind me, which could have been the headrest piece. Thanks!

constantine I had the same rattle coming from the passenger seat, dealer told me it was a "characteristic of the car" so I was forced to investigate it myself. I ended up finding the problem. See my picture, believe it or not it was the plastic piece the head rest connects to. I wedged a piece of paper in between and no more rattle. Hope this helps. let us know!

PratoN I think mine is the passenger seat AND the door panel.

As for the seat, I haven't determined if it's where the leather connects or on the track, but if I pull up and down quickly on the front left-most corner of the chair, it clicks. If I pull up slowly, it does not. If I adjust the seat position, sometimes it stops. I think it's something in the track, though.
