Sorry for the late reply as I have been planning my wedding the last few weeks.
This is the part I have fitted as it is fitted to the Focus ST and helps smooth the air out into the air box. I looked at the Ford Racing snorkel but where the std snorkel fits; there is plenty of fresh air getting in there and is a high pressure zone anyway. I wouldn't spend all that money on the Ford racing one. The ST one over here cost about 5 to purchase.

In this post when you say Snorkel delete are you only referring to the first part pictured?

What I am understanding is the second part is not specifically the "Snorkel" but that some have removed it as well.

Also the push pins on the cover anything special to get them out? or just pull?
Sorry, I meant to respond to this sooner. In that post the first piece is the snorkel and the second is the shroud. When this thread started we were still experimenting with the Mk3, and the original post evolved over time while the rest of the thread stayed the same. The only part that needs to be removed is the snorkel itself, and while some have cut or removed the shroud there is no definitive proof that it helps. It doesn't hurt, but you probably won't notice anything positive either.

As for the push pins, it's a two-piece fastener. You have to pull the center of it up or out before the outer part of the pin will collapse enough to come out of the hole. If you spin the fastener around you will see where you can fit a thin flathead screwdriver in to move the center section.

Just did the delete myself 20 minutes ago. I left the part in the bottom picture on. just took the snorkel off. As soon as you pull the shroud back its staring at you in the face. There is apparently no definitive answer on whether removing the part in the bottom picture is beneficial or not. Removing only the Snorkel is required for a Snorkel delete. By the way, i did the delete with no aftermarket filter or anything and can't really tell a difference, so I guess you need the after market green filter for the sound and the HP gains.

Yeah that's probably a better bet with similar results for less money.
