zip247 There was a lot of corrosion on the battery terminals. We disconnected the battery, cleaned up all of the corrosion and reconnected the cables. The car started just fine and runs like a champ.

Thanks for your advice.

zip247 I will check that when I get my car buddy out of bed and to my car. I did pop the hood and wiggle the battery terminals and they seemed tight. We will remove the terminals and then reconnect and see if that solves the problem.

I will let you know.

whynotthinkwhynot You should check all your battery terminal connections. It's likely one is loose, and that will give the symptoms you've described. Most likely it's the negative battery terminal, but it could be either one.

The trans won't shift into N without power, but you can force it into gear by using the emergency parking pin release detailed in the owner's manual. That's how you get a non-starting car to tow. You can use the key to press on a point in the shifter console to release the shifter. That's all cars, but your manual will give the specific location. It's typically hidden by a plastic plug that looks out of place.

No start

I have a 2005 Ford Focus zx4. This morning I started my car fine and drove to the local coffee shop. After getting my coffee and going back out to my car it will not start, no clicking, no lights, no radio, no nothing. What I find even more odd is that I can not even put the car in neutral when i turn the key.

New battery was installed about 2 months ago.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
