We just picked the car up from the dealer with a brand new master cylinder fluid reservoir. The light and message went off as soon as these parts were replaced, so that would appear to be the fix for those of you having this problem. A copy of the invoice is below.

I have read very little about coolant issues.
I think this is the only brake fluid thread I have read.
The front suspension noise is common.
Paint issues? Haven't read about any. Yes the water based paint chips easily, I recall reading that before. That is what it is.
Have read very little about TPMS issues.
Rattles? there are any number of reasons for rattles.
Could quality control be better? Yes. However there would still be problems with a select number of cars, it just happens.

Update: At around 22,000 miles, the "Brake Fluid Level Low Service Now" message began coming on every time we started the car, so we dropped it off at the dealer last weekend. They called on Monday to say they were replacing the master cylinder and brake fluid reservoir under warranty, but that it would take a few days because they have to order the part.
Fingers are crossed that this takes care of the problem...

I choose the 5 speed MT over the DCT 'cause the infinity issues about it I heard a lot!
Brake fluid issues
Front end suspension issues
Body Paint issues
And the endless list!
WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU DAMN FORD!

I don't know if it was my dealer or the car alignment place when they did their "complimentary check-up" but I opened my hood yesterday for my usual check up and realized
1. Someone didn't tighten the brake reservoir cap and now I have missing / cracked paint on my brake booster. *sigh*
2. Someone over-tightened my air filter top and cracked the plastic and now it doesn't even close. (I should have put a K&N sticker on it because it's not like the alignment place or Ford could have done anything once they opened it)
It's just a car... it's just a car...

Having the same problem
2012 Focus SE 5spd purchased in January 2012. 16K miles in the odometer. Lately the light would come out 10 times a day; sometimes right after switching on the engine. Took it to the dealer, they said they "cannot reproduce the problem" and breaks and fluid level are fine. Dealer has the car right now and will drive it again to try to get the warning to come up. I'm picking the car up tomorrow, let's see how it goes.

|WhiteT5||My wife reported that the "brake fluid level low" message popped up again and stayed on until she was nearly at work. The fluid level is fine and the cap is not loose. This is the first time it's happened in probably 2-3 months. Since it is so intermittent, I have my doubts that the dealer can/will do anything.|

|Darth_Focus||I had this issue and brought it to the dealer. It was a wire routing problem around the battery area, or so I was told. Took about 20 minutes to solve the problem. i suspect its an issue that's popping up more often than not. Light has not reappeared since and it's been about 2 months now.|
