freemind Make a false floor

flying canadian hey guys thanks for the suggestions.

I dont have enough room for it under the seat and now i have been playing with mounting it in the wheel well. If I get creative i will make a false wall on that side to protect it.

has anyone done this and if so do you have any design suggestions.

thanks, Ben

A7xschecter6661 I have mine mounted on my subwoofer box. Some will say it will break the amp.
It's a $55 walmart amp that pumps the bass enough to add some depth to the music and take the stress off my speakers so they don't have to pump the bass.

It's been screwed into the box for going on 4 years very soon. Nothing wrong with it yet.

Though if I had a wicked expensive amp I might be a little more cautious

mix1983 I'm not sure if there is room under the front passenger seat, maybe look into that. Just make sure it has breathing room. I advise you not to mount it to your subwoofer.

My favorite place is the back of the rear seat. Maybe do that and get a roof rack for the camping stuff?

Also keep in mind, a lot of amps don't like being "grounded out" by being screwed directly to metal. If the screw holes on your amp are plastic, this isn't an issue. Just make sure the metal of the amp isn't touching the metal in the car. If your screw holes are metal, use some rubber grommets in the holes.

Amp placement

I have just purchased a 07 ZX5 and will be putting in a amp and sub to start my upgrades to this car. i was hoping i could get your opinion on where you put your amp. I will be running a JL audio 500 slashv2 so the amp isnt huge. i would prefer not to have it on the back of the rear seat seeing as i love to camp and will need room to pack. if you have any suggestions that would be great.

Thanks Ben
