Hi SR71Blackbird,

Let's get this checked out. Send me a private message with your full name, phone number, VIN, and preferred dealer; I'll explore available options.

Have you had a chance to talk with your dealer about this? Please let me know, along with your mileage.

The rollover rattle that ELCouz referred to is normal for the MTX-75 manual transmission (transmission in neutral and clutch not depressed) and it is generally louder when the car is fully warmed up. You may notice it more on really hot days. If you depress the clutch, the gear rattle noise should lessen.

focusstu I have a 2012 5 speed that had a bad hesitation problem on slow launches unless I really slipped the clutch a lot. Switching to 93 octane did not help. TSB 12-5-5 helped a lot but did not cure the problem. Last year I did the snorkel delete and K&N drop-in and the problem completely went away. I don't understand how the snorkel delete and K&N drop-in can help so much at low revs but it seems to work for me.

Armenian and Blackbird, the cold motor accounts for the bit of lag but the occasional knocking that goes away when the clutch is engaged..have you driven a manual before? Im wondering if this is a knock or more of a buzz?

PS: To the lag, you might find of you wrap it up just a bit more before pressing the clutch, that this isn't as likely to happen

Other issues:

I've also noticed the absurd amount of rev hang it has in between shifts. The rpms will stay high for about 2-3 seconds, this is especially bad when I have the throttle opened up.

Another thing I have noticed is a knocking coming from the left side of the car near the bottom of engine. When I engage the clutch it goes away and when I let it out it comes right back. It's easily reproduced.

Last thing, if tapping the throttle in between 2-3k rpm i.e. give it enough gas at idle to make reach 3k and then let off and when it hits 2k give a quick burst, it sounds like a diesel tractor. Funny enough my motorcycle also did the same thing before the engine went. If I watch the tachometer I can see it jitter when the idles drop back down after giving it the burst of throttle. It doesn't jitter more than 2 or 3 hundred rpms, but it most definitely there. I've only got 11K on the car.

Any thoughts?

MTX75 have gear rollover... it's normal

Gears will vibrate when In neutral..

RPM hang is for emission control... new manual car are like that these days.

All your question have been answered many times

Please do a little search on this forum

I decided to drive the car down a long alleyway with buildings on each side to see if I could hear any spark knock in the engine. When the car does hesitate it does spark knock a few times right before hesitate? Almost like the spark plug is firing before the mixture is ready which results in that whole power stroke being missed. I have no check engine lights or codes present. Any help will be great thanks a lot.
Was the car cold during this?

Cold GDI engine = bad bad bad throttle response or hesitation on take off...

Mine hesitate all the time when RPM drop below IDLE threshold!

Also Throttle by wire introduce some noticeable delays
