|VEGAS||is the gasket on the oil pan of the 2.3L reusable when you do the BSD or is it silicone/cork? or need a new rubber? I have not done mine yet, but found a dirt cheap BSD on ebay... Just $27.50|

|RedRiderr13||ok, i may just run a stock 2.0 to get me running again. then start saving for the 2.3 setup. and one day i will get the tune, proboly before the head setup. random question though, how bad will the 2.3 intake kill gas milage??|

|VEGAS||yea, without the larger pistons and longer stroke that a 2.3L provides doing a 2.3L head is a far cry from a entire 2.3L engine as far as power.. I would do all the upgrades that would make a trip to a 2.3L engine more enhanced.|

|felixthecat||Installing the 23 is the best way to go. Add a 23 head is the 2nd best way. The 23 head flows better than a 20.|

i put a whole 2.3L engine in car, However the head is same.. Intake bolts right up. To be honest I cannot see porting heads on a 2.0L doing much of anything. reason to port a head is for making more power with more air flow but so much is restrictive, mainly with turbo or something like that where the benefits of smooth is needed for air speed, your not going to do anything in way of making more power if you are just porting your heads.

with our engines and no tune or other advances your looking at what, 2 or 3 hp? you might gain more out of swapping your plugs our for AR-103s or something more simple.
if you just wanna kill time or have more planned by all means head down the yellow brick road.
I think your better off saving your $ and just getting something more. Even if you have a guy to do the work free, a port and polish needs a new valves to be done right , the Valves and other items will still cost $200+ when done or more.

|RedRiderr13||vegas, thanks for your help, but i cant afford that right now, atleast not the new intake and tune on top of the head price, so im proboly just gonna end up running a ported 2.0 head. and put the intake money towards maintenance parts like water pump, fuel filter, timing chain guides thermostat, and a belt...< atleast thats the list soo far. if you guys wanna add anything, let me know.|

|RedRiderr13||ok, and any imput on what brand head gaskets to run? car was a dd, so im trying to get this all figured out this weekend if possible. and atleast get all the things i need to make it go smoothly. is felpro recomended?|

they want a "CORE RETURN REQUIRED."
however I would check if they will take your 2.0L or get a POS one that is at scrap yard for $50
I will email him and see what the deal is..
