Just curious, what format of digital music do you use as a DJ?

Just an FYI, with the mag mount my phones bottom stick out to the right and the charge wire hangs straight down the right side of the center console to the floor and runs back along the left of the passenger seat to the charge port for the back seat in the middle of the back side of the storage console. It turned out surprisingly clean looking.

What I have been doing lately though is loading up a bunch of music in high quality format, sending them up to my cloud storage and pump it through my car's speakers thru my phone. Since I already have my phone with me, I need nothing else.

No, I do not carry around my CD's in a giant 320 disc carrier...that would be lame. I wanted the tray so I could keep my phone/mp3 player in center console connected to the USB port for charging/music without having any wires running across my center console/shifter/dash. I just didn't like putting my phone in the center console without a tray because it would flop around during corning and I can't stand that...OCD about certain things. The tray should keep it easily accessible at the the top and the rubber should keep it from moving around.

To be fair CDs are compressed just like MP3s. You can get MP3s at 320k or higher. Most of mine are done at 256k or higher and I can't really tell the difference in a car. Most current phones or mp3 players have large enough storage to keep most music collections in the higher bit rates unless you have like 100k songs or something.

Now if you are listening to records on a tube amp with reference quality monitors that's another story...

I like good sound too but I find 256+ bitrate to be fine... do you know if off the USB it will play other lossless formats? I'll have to do some research...

But ya, I hate dealing with discs, haven't used them in years... but with the CD slot mount, again, you can just unscrew the tightening screw to change out discs and the CD player works fine with it in as it grabs only the very edge of the lip... I haven't seen any other way to really mount a phone good where I can see it easily for navigation, etc....

Use the USB drive with 320k MP3's... spinning discs are so '90's but if you must you can have a disc in with the CD slot mount, you would just have to unscrew the tightening screw to remove the mount to change discs... I think the disc player plays MP3's, right? If so burn a bunch of albums in 256k or higher on a disc and keep it in there, but that is by far the best way to deal with a cell phone I've seen yet for our car, there are too many crazy curves for a suction cup mount.

If so I was going to contract the dealer and see if they could get it for me. I want to put my phone in the center console but I don't want it just flopping around in there.
