|pasta||after disconnecting battery the car should run fine but yes it does have to relearn it should take up to 35 miles or so mostly on highway|

|mikebontoft||ok. It was probably bolted to it so the chances of bracket damage or sensor damage shouldn't be an issue with the replacement|

|mikebontoft||they should have no problem with it unless it turns out to be something they didn't do. I'm curious, but did they do anything about the crank position sensor? if there were piece flying around in the bellhousing, it could have taken it out. Yes it's in the bellhousing.|

How long do you think the relearn process takes?
let me tell you the whole story.about the clutch/tranny... I bought the car, drive it home, next day something came loose in the tranny. caught in the clutch/flywheel, pieces blew out the bell housing. Got a spec stage 2+ clutch/flywheel installed, new 6speed tranny, and just got it back 2 days ago. Put about 40miles on it since. Im thinking its that cable issue(well hoping it is, I can do it myself). I really hope the garage hooked the clutch up right but hopefully they will honor it since I just got it back.

that part sounds related to the clutch install.
your weird running deal is characteristic of these cars when the battery is disconnected. It needs to go through the relearn procedure sleepy mentioned. It will not erase your tune.

Tom, since you are on here, I seen you around on all the forums. I took my car out to show my Buddy.how it runs right now and when.i.shifted the shifter went into 2nd gear but when I left out the clutch it sounded like it was still in first. I pulled over and my shifter was stuck in 2nd gear. I can't get it out of second. Any ideas?
P.S. I am gonna try the battery disconnect method and if that dont work ill check for a vac leak. My friend said that could be an issue after the ride.

The Batt loose has no effect on idle or any bogging , if this is what happening I would check Vac leaks , IMRC unhooked , cam sensor unhooked etc

|sleepyboy||Disconnect it again, then wait about 10mins or just turn on all the light and stuff with the battery disconnected. Then connect and let the car sit there and idle for roughly 5-10mins. If it's cold let it warm up all the way. If you still have a problem then something is not right.|

|Mile30||These cars are finicky after reconnecting the battery. It seems to be a Focus-proclivity!|
