Just to add my 2 cents,
Always replace the water pump while you are in there.
Albeit I have a ZX3, It was not bad at all. But that was in my buddies garage in Jan.
Or this if you don't have jackstands, a floor jack and a covered place to do it and are very unsure of your skills, with no help, have the extra$$ and need the security of a limited guarantee by a reputable shop.

|TWINSCRW||Perhaps the carrier bearing is going on mine as well, it would certainly explain the growling noise and vibration. Mine seems to be the worst during deceleration and quietest during acceleration.|

lol nah mine is in every gear. even neutral. lol i jacked the car up and spun the wheels, and 'felt' the noise on the carrier bearing that supports the pass side cv shaft.

|SVTFOOCUS||The timing belt really isn't that big of a pain, except for the first time around maybe. I have changed mine out within a hour I think before. But I've also taken the engine completely apart a couple times. =0) The SVT is very easy to work on (inside and out), part of why I like it so much.|

|MustangCRZY302||Now I need to find the correct CV shaft for the passenger side, as the carrier bearing starting howling... getting really loud too|

|MustangCRZY302||Just got the timing belt done. about 2.5 hours with a buddy, no issues at all. The horror stories on here make it worse than it sounds.|

I had a shop do my timing belt, and I provided them with the cam tool since it's cheap. After researching on here I also had the following preventative maintenance:
timing cover seal
valve cover gasket
water pump & gasket
I didn't want to deal with any of these known-issue parts giving me grief down the road, one fell swoop kinda thing.
I should have also done the cam and crank seals.

|cmajaa||Do it with the alignment tools and exactly the way its explained by ford and you won't have any problems, I've done two cars so far and have never had any codes.|
