In the process of retrofitting my spec-d headlights with Motimoto mini H1 projectors. Bought the sped-d "retro-quick" kit from The Retrofit Source. Also going to paint the high beam reflector and the bezels gloss black(the bezels are matte black now), tint the led strip, turn signal lens and orange reflector. Going to try to figure out why the passenger's side led strip doesn't always work as well, which will probably be near impossible being that there is quite a bit of wiring inside these. They were super easy to open up, just used a hair drier on the lowest setting and worked my way around the light.
Pink towel FTW

If using spray, then soapy hot water, rinse, let dry, then spray with satin black paint. Looks very oem if you do it right.
If you want to maintain the chrome underneath for future selling on, then plastidip, but it won't look quite as oem.
You could always rip out the lights from that honeycomb and fit them to the original panels.
OT: I hate that separated led look on new cars, it looks so cheap...like it looks aftermarket. I much prefer a solid bar of light to individual leds.
