Best of luck with it.
I didn't know you had an oogah horn! Does it sound like an old 1900s car or something? LOL

Oh and I went and looked at two SVT's near my parents on Saturday. They were in really rough shape. I really always wanted a plain old ZX3 or ZX5. I'm leaning towards a ZX5, so that way it wont feel like the exact same car to me...
So my one goal of deciding on what I want to do with the car still isn't accomplished... I know what I should do, but it would be hard to do financially and emotionally. Its almost easier for me to part the car out completely and sell everything and drive the escort than it would for me to buy another car for a few grand... I know that sounds horrible but that's the way my head works. The price stuff costs is very conscious to me. That's partially why it took me 4 years to make the car how it is now. Every single thing I bought only if it was a great deal. Well everything except the CAI. It was my first mod and I bought it new.... cost like $220 for a filter and a piece of metal. haha
Plans for this upcoming Saturday is to finish pulling the dash and wash it. The motor is still in rough shape. Plus work on making up my mind with what I need to do.

No matter what its going to be a Ship of Theseus type deal but swapping in ALL the electical into a car is going to be really rough in the long run

|02fordsvt||Personally, I'd suggest getting a replacement Focus and swapping the parts. You'll avoid a lot of headaches and get the same, if not better results.|

Just caught up on the news.
Congrats on your Wedding!
Condolences on the car damage.
Good attitude, looking forward to time spent with Dad & family while working on it. Such a mess, I hope the parts swapping works out well for you & easier than expected. A lot of hosing down needed after the interior stripping, I've seen a couple "builds" that intense but you'll be one of the few for sure.
I wonder if you can hose the SVT seats well enough to get the mud out, then wet vac the covers to get them dry first before the leather sits wet too long. (cloth sections to get some of the water out). Carpet cleaner type machine, works on seats for cleaning.

Welp I've got all kinds of thinking to do. Here's all of my options of what to do with my car, in order of what I WANT to do. Not what is smartest.... Lol
1. Buy a parts car and swap everything that's shorted out/malfunctioning. Once I'm done, sell other parts off the parts car to the public, and then scrap it. The only problem with this is that I'm sure I would be battling electrical gremlins a lot over the next few years... if the Focus is to continue being my daily, that poses a problem.
2. Buy another mint black zx3/zx5 and swap all of the sexy stuff over. I would swap everything except the SVT seats, because I'm about 70% sure they're going to be ruined and full of mold. Lol The only problem is that that would cost a bunch of money, which is the opposite of what I have after just getting married and saving for a house... Plus it wouldn't be the same car I have had for the last 4 years. It would feel the same, but deep down every time I got in it, I would know it wasn't the same car... But on the flip side it shouldn't have electrical problems! This is why I'm thinking about getting a zx5, so that way it doesn't feel like the exact same thing. But I really want to do a rear seat delete in a zx3... decisions!
3. Buy a focus with higher mileage, or been in a small accident, and swap everything over. This is basically a mix between those two options... Presumably this would be cheaper than buying a mint zx3/zx5. And less work and time than swapping electrical components over from a parts car. I would love to be able to go to Focusfest still in whatever car gets built out of this! Lol
4. Part my car out and put the money into another car. (Not gonna happen. lol)
Whatever I choose, the end result should be a sexy focus... I'm going out there as soon as I can on Saturday. I'll post on here on Saturday or Sunday with more updates on my decision and hopefully the car being worked on.
