What do you mean next time?

Thanks for the tip. We were debating on bolting the trans on and then putting it back in. Still not sure on how we are going to proceed. I guess we will find out when I go to dip it in.

sbc17 Alright. Big news. The engine is reassembled and ready to put back into the car! We drove it up and dropped out off at about midnight last night. It's sitting next to my car just waiting. Next Saturday I should be putting it back into the car. I'm so excited!!

sbc17 Thanks guys. It's been a long a tough battle with this little car. Lol

I'm glad I re-inspired you to get back at it with yours.

So a mini update. Last Friday we got the timing belt back on. The only issue is that it kept wanting to walk off the cam gears. So we are gonna try again tomorrow night. Hopefully with luck it will be all set and basically ready to shove back into the car. Lol

It was late and we were tired and not motivated to crack it open and see exactly what's wrong with it. But, we brought it to his house which is a closer drive from home so I'll be able to work on it easier.

It's such a relief to finally have it out of the car. I'm so excited because I'm just that much closer to it being back in action!
Im following this now! Ive been working on one for about 2 weeks now.

Tell me about it being a pane! Im used to chevy 350's and Jeep 4.0's in and out in half a day if your decent at it. Not these engines so many more systems and so many more harder to get to spots than that!
