You could go to Henry's 12th Street Tavern on 12th and Burnside and sample lots of beers.
Or you could also swing by Belmont Station which claims to have over 1000 beers available to buy and drink on site. Can't go wrong with either place.

I tried Bridgeport actually, I ordered Hair of the Dog at one place but they were out.. I was bummed :(
Also tried MacTarnahan's Amber Ale.
I also went to Jake's and a place called Higgin's. Really great food at both places.

Deschutes is my favorite brewery!! If you go, try the Black Butte porter, and if its on the menu, the Mos Eisley. Its unlike any other beer I've ever had. They might have their Black Butte Porter 27th anniversary edition, which is excellent. VERY thick, lots of flavor... Man, I had to read this while I'm at work :'( Now I want a beer... There's also their Extinction Stout, which is brewed with Raspberries of all things. It has an aftertaste of chocolate covered raspberries, which is pretty cool if you like that kind of stuff. I'm not a huge fan of them, but it was a very different flavor and worth trying :P
There are a few others I've been to down there, Coalition, Bridgeport (they have a good IPA if you like that style, I personally don't) Hair of the Dog (they're one of the top rated breweries on RateBeer.com) Full Sail, Hopworks... I love portland.
Here's the top 50 beers on RateBeer... Looks like Deschutes got on there with their The Abyss Imperial Stout!! I usually use this website to find breweries worth visiting when I'm on vacation.

The bigger ones arent really in Portland. Full Sail in Hood River is not really my taste but pretty popular. Deschuttes in Bend is more to my liking and still popular. In Gresham there is 4th Street. Love it.
As for actually in Portland. Definitely can't possibly go wrong with McMinnemans. Rogue is in the heart of Portland and a little dark and heavy but very very good. For sure hit that one. Widmer and BridgePort about round out the "notables" for me at least.

I know for sure the chocolate place is Cacao. If you've never tried drinking chocolate you should definitely give it a go. As far as brewpubs go I've only ever been to Widmer Brothers and your always safe with a McMenamins.
Hope you have a good trip.

Visiting Portland for the first time
Going on a business trip to Portland soon. A lot of people have said there are some amazing microbreweries there. Which one should I definitely go check out?
Someone also told me about some amazing chocolate store or something with an international selection?
