93 octane is around $0.50/gallon higher vs. 87, so I may try 89 for a while to see if it's worth it.
I dont think its in your head, my car works much better on 93 too

maybe they're ripping you off with their "ethanol free"
If combined MPG is 30.0 and E10 was used, that means 10% of those miles are affected by the ethanol; in this case, 3 miles. We know that by using E85- we get roughly 1/3 loss in mileage in comparison to petrol. 1/3 of 3 miles is 1 mile, so you're looking at a loss of about, 1 MPG. Now since E85 has the 15% help of petrol, we can go ahead and say you'd get about a 1.5 MPG loss at the most by using E10 in this scenario.

I can see how someone might not notice a difference.

It may however it was negligible for me. At most .5mpg in the city and I didn't notice a difference on the highway versus regular premium.

On another note, I'm trying to only use Shell VPower gas after seeing some videos on YouTube about carbon buildup in Ford Focus engines and with the added detergents in Shell gas I'm hoping that it will prevent most of that from occurring.

anyone using premium gas ?

Here is my result running Shell 93 with Nitro+, I was traveling the West Virginia Turnpike with my cruise set to 65 I believe (limit is 60), now keep in mind that that route travels through the mountains with a lot of steep uphill and downhill sections. This is the best I've recorded yet.

dchawk81 I tried to do the same on the way home but my jaw was hurting so I hauled ass home. Lol. That dropped my trip average to about 38.
