blackknight750 Sweet.

Thanks Mike!

mikebontoft nah. well it depends on what you get. I would just get rid of the top portion of your air box and slip on a cone filter found for maybe $26.

for the exhaust, you can do a few things. buy one for a couple hundred or have a muffler shop or even some independent shops (cheaper) weld up a new system for you from the flex pipe back. pick a muffler, and go for maybe 2.25 or 2.5" tubing. I'm sure it would be less than or around $200 that way.

blackknight750 i'm guessing it's about 1k for the intake/exhaust upgrade?
07-17-2012 10:33 PM
mikebontoft yeah sorry... neither one is just a simple task unfortunately. easier than custom but still involves quite a bit of work. about 2-3k is the normal for good parts too that is.

might just be worth it to help the car breathe some. upgrade intake and exhaust, and as long as you keep your foot out of it you should see some MPG improvement.

right if it says zetec that's what it is then, they are pretty different.... In which case you're in luck because there are a couple options for you..... Top Speed, (probably) fswerks, Tom (1turbofocus)... maybe that's it?
How much are we talking about here? Does that involve changing a lot of parts?

I went to ebay and searched for focus 02 supercharge and I found "kits".. I was hoping there was a simple and basic supercharger for noobs :)

whynotthinkwhynot He sort of said it was a wagon. I've never seen an SPI in a wagon.

If it says Zetec on it, then it's a Zetec. SPI spark plugs go into the side of the cylinder head- like older pushrod engines. Zetec, and other DOHC engines, have spark plugs going through the center of the valve cover.

OP, is it a sohc spi or dohc zetec? there are a few kits available for the zetec but spi is diy.

I'm not sure but the valve caps are big and roundish so I'm assuming it's SOHC.

However, it DOES say ZETEC on the engine. Does that mean it's DOHC?
