hello, just bought first new car
Just wanted to drop in and say hello. I picked up a cool little black SE hatchback 5 speed this afternoon. I am looking forward to the drive to work in the morning for the first time ever. Cant wait to get some tint on the windows. I have been driving an 02 escape for almost 10 years that has needed a lot of work for a long time. I love the feeling of freedom I have now, if I wanted to drive across the country tomorrow I wouldnt be worried about a break down or the gas bill.

Well count me in with my 2014!
You know they ought to change the Mk3 topic to (2012- ) instead of (2012-2013) which is already outdated- the '14's have been out for months!

I had to laugh about the gas door; I have the exact same experience. I now use masking tape when I go through the car wash ;-)
But I do love this car! Most enjoyable car I've ever owned and I've had a few. I'm 73

Right. My point was that many options that the D-pad allowed control of from the 2012-13 steering wheel can only be controlled from the center stack in the 2014.

Two years now down the road with my 2012 and after just doing the snorkle delete I am one happy person.
In conjunction with the K&N filter (I have had for a long time now) the car is way peppier. All around more. Just more apparent power.
So the snorkle delete and an aftermarket filter really make the car better.
I would not get an exhaust as I like the quiet exhaust. but the air stuff do not really add much noise. (a little you can hear starting the car. and at big throttle/high RPM like getting on a freeway.. but usually nothing loud)
So still happy as can be after two years and going...
