Same problem here with 2012 titanium. In an internet search, it appears to be a fairly common problem. Freaks out everyone in the parking lot.

Not sure what to do except turn the car on as fast as possible to stop it.

Kaaru I had my 3rd demonic possession event on this passed June 26th at 15h06. This ''bug'' happens when I unlock the doors with the remote and actually open the door with the handle. Never seen another car doing this, but hey, there is nothing out there like the nem Focus lol !!

I have been told by the dealer that this ''bug'' has been adressed via some obscur TSB and that it should never come back again. It did. Not really surprised.

But then again, I was also told that my DCT was working just fine...but they changed it 3 times, so...

All those problems for 34K$. Thanks Ford

MG_MK3 This is odd.. I've not had this happen to me, but my car does get funky when I unlock it. The needles on the dash bounce around and sometimes the lights will flash randomly. I just assumed it was haunted lol.

Jackson81 Literally just happened to me tonight. Unlocked the door and as soon as it was opened that noise started. It sounded like engine sounds but as soon as you put your ear near a speaker it's audible. Weird experience, glad to know I can leave my dealer alone and it might just be a firmware update.

MOIME I thank you for offering to help but I just sold my Ford Focus officially yesterday. I did bring it in to the Ford dealership and they offered no fix..but they did wash the car though! :-) It's unfortunate it had to come to this! :-(

I don't work for Ford but I am a defender of common sense.
I am also an engineer so I can appreciate the complexity of hardware and (especially) firmware.

I bought an early production car and it's been to the dealer service department once (for a powertrain firmware update).

I've never experienced that particular problem with the MFT system although I could because I don't have the firmware update that addresses that problem. How it supposed to work is this: You go to your dealer, he fixes the problem (it only takes about 15 minutes), washes your car, and gives it back to you and you drive away a satisfied customer.

I told people when they'd tease me about buying a Ford by saying things have changed compared to years ago, but they woukd say...Fix Or Repair Daily. ...now I have no response to them. These "problems" whether computer related or mechanical should have been worked out before selling the model to the public. It's really too bad.
Hi MOIME,

How many kilometres does your vehicle possess? I would like to help.

MOIME Well anything run by Apple usually doesn't need as many updates as something run by Windows. ..but we're not talking something run by these OSs .. a bit different. You sound like you work for Ford as you defend them a lot! :-) Actually I have owned a few cars with subwoofers....never a problem like this one....cheaper cars and luxury! I thank you for your responses but we must be realistic here...the Focus at least. ..not Ford in general. ....has a few too many problems ...for a brsnd new car out just recently. .compared to other lower-ens or higher-end cars. It's not normal. You must admit! ....set your affection to the car aside... :-)
