I'd put the cover back on if I were you, but as it's your car, do what you please. If you want more intake noise, get an aftermarket unit.

The intake system for the 2012 Ford Focus 2.0 is part # 21-702 and produces 4HP @5200RPM
Are they still unwittingly hurting themselves? I guess we can't know until there is an independent dyno.

|Meathead||How does the AEM sound? When i installed the FSWerks Short Ram, I love the sound, but under load (not sitting in a drive way revving engine), it can create a "fart can" sound at some RPM's. I am getting used to it, but just wasnt expecting it.|
