DEREKC I would probably recommend doing the full detail. Iron-X, clay, wash, polish, wash, wax or seal. That being said, I think that the Iron-X should dissolve most of the metal particles.

Hannah26 That's great! Thanks heaps. Will just a wash, iron x and a really good rinse do the trick or will I need to do something over the car after?

DEREKC Did a quick search and found the following.

Hannah26 Have looked into iron x, but am struggling to find anywhere that will ship to Australia

DEREKC Get yourself some Iron-X.

Hannah26 No, I'm far from any industrial areas.. Just doesn't seem right!

Any ideas on how quickly this needs to be fixed before permanent damage occurs?

Same issue!

I've got the same problem with my titanium. Picked it up in may and noticed a small yellow dot on the bonnet, thought nothing of it and it was dirty. It's gotten worse and worse. I've tried washing it well and continue to at least once a week. I've compiled photos and professional opinions from panel beaters. They have since been sent off to ford and am now waiting to hear back.

Much the same, not by train tracks or anything to compromise the paint work however the car was transported from Sydney to Adelaide where I picked it up. I am sure it is brake dust that has settled. After the car arrived in Adelaide it was three weeks until I picked it up.

Any luck with yours?

There should be enough life in your clay bar and spray. You can buy the spray seperately, or use water as a shortcut.

Have you done this before? Because you are supposed to wet the area down pretty good with the detail spray and fold and stretch the clay bar after each area is finished. We are talking an area the size of the palm of your hand. It is a tedious process but is a must if you have fallout, etc.
I used Mother's. It came with two bars and spray. This was my first time clay barring a car. I did use a lot of solution. The spray that came with the kit wasn't enough so I used Croftgate Aquanil X to finish the rest of the car. I followed instructions as per what the box said. I will give it another try in the next few weeks. I'm also going to look into the other recommendations in this thread. Thank you
