Haha yup! I had a euro plate on my car that said "ooogahhh" for awhile. Its hanging in my room now... Its 3 years old so it doesn't really sound like oogah anymore. It sounds more like Eeeeeeeeeeeeeegah. lol

Its actually a plain ol zx3. :D But if I had known, obviously I would have moved it. I had no idea I lived in a flood zone, and I didn't ever think something like this could happen. I've lived here a year and a half and I've never had anything like this happen. So yeah if I had known I obviously woulda moved the car. haha And thanks for the congrats!!

Today I picked up an escort load full of parts. I got a dash and all wiring harnesses, the steering wheel assembly, some different modules, and boxes of switches and small components. Oh and airbags, insulation that goes near the firewall, and the heater blower motor. Sunday I am going to Evansville to pick up a near mint set of SVT seats and carpet and a couple other small things. So I don't know how much I'll be able to work on the car again because most of the weekend will be driving and whatnot. The weekend after I have the first FX (Ohio Valley Focus club) meet of the year. But hopefully I'll be able to finish taking out the dash, and start replacing stuff!

Condolences on the car damage.

Good attitude, looking forward to time spent with Dad & family while working on it. Such a mess, I hope the parts swapping works out well for you & easier than expected. A lot of hosing down needed after the interior stripping, I've seen a couple "builds" that intense but you'll be one of the few for sure.

I wonder if you can hose the SVT seats well enough to get the mud out, then wet vac the covers to get them dry first before the leather sits wet too long. (cloth sections to get some of the water out). Carpet cleaner type machine, works on seats for cleaning.

Thank you! The seats actually don't seem to be that bad. My rear seats were mint, but my fronts already had tears, stains, and rough spots in them from the previous owner. So as of right now, they're in my apartment making an addition to furniture in the living room. Lol I'll look around for another set of front seats though.

No matter what its going to be a Ship of Theseus type deal but swapping in ALL the electical into a car is going to be really rough in the long run
Thanks for all the input! This is what I was thinking I'd do, just buy a new car and swap the good stuff over to it. Its the easiest and fastest route. Plus its the safest and more reliable route. But its also going to be way more expensive. Part of me this weekend was wanting a lot of the electrical components of the car to be ruined, so I could make up my mind about getting another car or not. Well wayyy more components were working than I thought. Even my oogah horn still works. (best $15 ever spent!!) I had a busy schedule this weekend, so I only got to spend 3 or 4 hours with the car this weekend. We got the front door panels off, and worked on pulling the dash apart. We wanted to get it all out in one piece, but that wasn't happening... Lol I got the headlights and grille off. I loaded the whole interior (all seats, all door panels, center console, tach, cupholders, all air vents), headlights, grille, and CAI into the ZX2. She was pretty packed. Lol I'll work on cleaning everything as much as I can during the week.

Oh and I went and looked at two SVT's near my parents on Saturday. They were in really rough shape. I really always wanted a plain old ZX3 or ZX5. I'm leaning towards a ZX5, so that way it wont feel like the exact same car to me...

So my one goal of deciding on what I want to do with the car still isn't accomplished... I know what I should do, but it would be hard to do financially and emotionally. Its almost easier for me to part the car out completely and sell everything and drive the escort than it would for me to buy another car for a few grand... I know that sounds horrible but that's the way my head works. The price stuff costs is very conscious to me. That's partially why it took me 4 years to make the car how it is now. Every single thing I bought only if it was a great deal. Well everything except the CAI. It was my first mod and I bought it new.... cost like $220 for a filter and a piece of metal. haha

Plans for this upcoming Saturday is to finish pulling the dash and wash it. The motor is still in rough shape. Plus work on making up my mind with what I need to do.
