when you guys install the Walker 53825 pipe, does it have a lapjoint or a butt joint? Just need to know so I get the right clamp. Walker also makes awesome clamps that are better than the standard U clamp.

(I have done this mod and there is no noticeable difference in power; it just sounds a little more aggressive.)

|Sykopath||Awesome mod. Does this have any effect on the ponies?|

Here's my FoFo with the lunchbox deleted. Doesn't sound bad at all.

Haha gotta bring this thread back up just to say this is something I'm going to get done for sure. I've always had a shop cut out the resonators on cars/trucks but I didn't want to dump any money into this one and just keep it stock since it's just a daily driver to me and not for performance but this is a really cool mod.
Will it make my 2.0 sound deep similar to a 2.3? Also, do you guys notice any droning at highways speeds w/ this done?

|SilverST05||Walker p/n 53825 is basically the same as the 53610 but the 53825 comes with the polished tip already welded on. Just bought my 2005 ST used less than a year ago. Went to check what I needed to do this and realized mine must have been replaced already. No lunchbox. Not sure if it's OE system converted or aftermarket like magna flow or something. It looks like its getting pretty rusty so I'm thinking OE vs a stainless steel aftermarket.|

why would it die?
There is alot of 2005-2007 models out there still stock and they are starting to get pretty affordable.
Plus the 2008-2011 has this lunchbox on it also i believe.

I dont understand why they even put this on the car. The car already has 2 cats and a 14" muffler its so restricted already IMO this last part is just overkill.
I eventually put a header on mine with a 36" resonator downt he center of the car then a larger inlet and outlet 14" muffler.
Its pretty loud now but not any louder then any other tunner car.
Now a Harley? shoot mine isnt even near as loud as a Harley.
