Tiger-Heli Also, in general if the new tach came from a car with TCS and your car doesn't have it, that light will be on, but you can just pull the bulb out.

If the new tach came with a car with ABS and your car doesn't have it, BOTH the ABS and the brake warning lights will be on. You can pull the bulbs also, but you lose the low fluid/emergency brake on warning function.

That is the only thing I regret about my tach swap, but it's not a huge deal.

sailor SVT gauges will work if you have a zetec engine, but the "indiglow' back lighting WON'T.

Transformer for that is in the SVT aux. gauge cluster, and if not using that you need to install an aftermarket transformer to power the cluster lighting.

Rattler347 Thanks Cobelco. Appreciate your advice. We'll have to have a local meet-up. Is there going to be a show at Ocean Shores this year?

I have some plans for mine - can't wait to start tinkering.

When I first turned my key on after the installation the needles jumped up to max and back to zero just like when the battery is disconnected. Once they settle fire it up and enjoy watching your idle for the first time. Good luck and enjoy your wagon. I will keep an eye out for you.

cobelco I have Oregon plates on my wagon and just got my windows tinted at California Tint in East Bremerton for $200. It turned out nice, just in time for summer.

Hey Cobelco,

I just bought an all white 2001 Focus Wagon with a 5-speed from a guy in Belfair, WA. Like Yours, mine has no tach, and like you - I want one. I have an opportunity to buy a set of gauges from an SVT with the white/silver faces that I think will make my all white wagon look great inside. Is it just a direct plug and play going from the non-tach gauge package to the SVT with the tach??

2003 ZTW Tach swap...

matmatician Hey, welcome man! Silverdale is just across the water from me! You'll need to make sure the tach is a 2000-2004 model, but as long as it is, is will work!

sailor As long as you got one that matches, '05-'07 is different than '00-'04.

Quick & easy swap.

cobelco WIll this technique work for a 2003 ZTW? I bought a used cluster with Tach on EBAY and want to try and put it in myself. I am excited to finally have one for my 5 speed!
