I drive a 2006 ZX4 SE with an FSWerks Cool Flo intake as my only mod and although I don't know what my times are, I know that from 0 to the 1/4 marker, I was doing roughly 80mph when I passed it. That's not fast, but it's not dogass slow either. At least compared to slow cars.
Get a tune and you'll probably increase your times by like .3 -.7. Any mods beyond that will only help, so look over c-f-m.com and see what looks good to you.
As for dragging being bad on the tranny, I was thinking about calling my local tranny shop and asking them if there is anything they can add to my ATX to help it not take such a beating.

Ive read of as low as 15.8 for a 05-07 hatch, not sure how much of a difference in weight there is.
if its your first time there dont stress about running the fastest time, you wont. its all about learning the first few times out

Myonlycomment is running a few 1/4 mile runs as hard as you can go is really tough on any car.
I wnt to a dragstrip with both my 96' Mystique and my 99' Contour SVT.
I am pretty certain the experience shortened the lifespan of BOTH cars transmissions.
So be forwarned.
Then you have to wait in line to race. if you keep the engine running, it will be too hot to run it's best times.
I got a lot of clapping for my reaction times. i was pretty good on that front.
