ftr, I have ESP on my car and I'm still under my regular warranty (2012) ..this is BS!!

Same dealership who wanted to charge me $250 for a whole cargo cover because the $14 straps broke...

I'm extremely upset right now..
Have you considered a second opinion from another dealer? Please let me know, along with your mileage.

Think you need to find a new dealer. They seem to be complete scheisters.

Welcome to the forum!

You can check for any recall notices on your vehicle by plugging the VIN in here: Recall Notices || Ford Owner.

Have you had the chance to talk to your dealer about this? Please let me know, along with your year and mileage.

Parking Aid Malfunction-Service Required

My husband and I have been experiencing the same problem of an inability to start the car accompanied by this error message. The inconvenience is annoying but the potential safety risks to my family, especially when my children and I are alone in the car, are very frightening. Has there been a recall regarding this issue that we may have missed?

It's been working fine since the fix. They replaced the TCM.

Rsport I am having the same issue as everyone else on this form. I am looking for help and I'm tired of getting the run around from all the individuals who work at Ford. My specific issue is as follows. My car completely died in my drive way as I was pulling in. All electrical was still working but the car shut off and wouldn't restart. The "parking aid malfunction" light came on. I had my car towed to a ford dealership. After 2 days they told me it was "my battery" and that's what was causing my car to not restart and what caused it to stall. I had the battery replaced and specifically asked the service tech to tell me that the fault of my car stalling was the battery. Upon leaving the dealership with my car equipped with a new battery, it stalled again about 5min worth of driving. This time it was in the middle of a intersection almost causing a drastic pile up. I had it towed back to the same dealership and explained my situation. I called head office (Canada) and explained my situation.

I have already replaced my TCM once and that was a whole other problem. Is this the common problem? Should I expect another replacement or is ford going to try to give me the run around again and tell me it's something else?

I am now waiting for the final result. It's such a frustrating situation where large companies do not stand by there product and do not fix their issues. I don't understand how a major SAFETY issue is not taking serious.. Well done FORD

Dealer service said it was a transmission module. That was replaced but it did not solve the problem. Several days later and after consulting with Ford in Michigan, the diagnosis was an electrical problem. I was told they had to take the interior apart to find the source of the problem. I contacted Ford in Michigan through this forum and asked for their help. I don't know if in fact it helped to speed things along but i felt I was doing all I could on my end. Be prepared to supply Ford with your VIN, dealer info, etc. Very strange that it seems to be happening to mostly our year and model. I hope this info helps you with your car. Good luck!
How is your car doing, did they have to replace harnesses, was it electrical problem?

Is there any help on the way. I don't trust my dealer (for various reasons).
Did you get your TCM (Trans control module) replaced?
