peppersmum Less than a week after Revision f done, the car is shuddering badly at take off. Can't wait to ditch this car.

stevenb1 Hello,
I got the update done and the transmission is so much smoother. The chatter
in reverse is gone now.. The shifting is much smoother yet quick. All in all
very much worth the trip. Also gas mileage is much better now.

Breach of Trust

After my transmission failed in the middle LBJ (Dallas I-635) during rush hour I could not trust the car anymore. I had it repaired and sold it. You don't expect a car with 30,000 miles on it to leave you sitting in traffic with cars going by at 70 miles an hour on both sides. It will probably be a while before I get a car with a DCT transmission. It is a shame because otherwise it was a very nice car.

peppersmum I just got mine back with Revision F and so far the car is driving nicely but I am nervous about how long it is going to last before problems start again.

TxMedic ok its been a while since i have posted about my dct issues. I recently got my car back from the dealership after having the clutches replaced revision f i believe which took the dealer over a week to complete leaving me in a nice rav4 rental. I figured i would give it a couple weeks to see how it was running and get used to it. I belive i have traded one set of issues for another. At about 10-15mph the car shakes terribly and after coming to a stop sometimes it seems to want to stall. High rev gear changes are better but the delay of power from a stop seems to be much much worse and over all the car feels more sluggish. I will definitly be looking for a different vehicle soon my only worry is that because of these issues my car is worth almost nothing and has costed me way too much to justify keeping it.

One thing about the Focus Fanatics forum is overall it is pretty balanced with good and bad points about the Focus.

As this topic is about the negatives, here's some threads which look at the positive/both sides to help you better understand if you buy a Focus what you are letting yourself in for.

Something which is pretty good about this forum is it is actually read by Ford. For some of the other brand cars I have owned and tried to find solutions for my problems I found out that they are not read by the manufacturer and even worse blocked so if the staff even wanted to they could not access the forum at work!

The main advice I have for you is don't buy any car where the local dealer sucks. Even if your car works before it goes into the shop, it won't after it leaves...

What a bad joke this has been for many, many of us.
Can you tell me how you get the service records? I tried asking a dealer and they said I should talk to customer relations. I spoke to Meagan (FordService) on here, and she and her manager said I need to talk to a dealer..... *sigh*.
