Thanks for the update. In addition to talking with the service adviser, I recommend also asking to do a ride along so you can show them exactly what happens and when, since you know when your car is most likely to exhibit these symptoms. Second opinions are also helpful. I see your CSM Rita has a follow-up call set for Friday. Keep me in the loop with this.

Initially when i had DCT problems i filed a case with Ford. Which they looked at and the car was fine, after 5 visits to a ford dealer.

I'm just not quite so satisfied with this at the moment. I'l give them a call soon i think.

I let her know I wanted to bring it back to my dealer and let them took at it for a 2nd time since having them "fix it" under warranty(replace seals/update compuer). She in getting a loaner for Thursday morning.

This time I'm going to sit with the advisor and talk with him and make him understand exactly when/where the transmission gives me issues.

If this doesn't work then I'm going to schedule an appt with another ford shop look at the problem. After that who knows, wonder if its worth bringing to a legit transmission shop for a non-ford opinion.

The power loss could be as simple as the traction control kicking in eg early morning dew on the road/driveway causing tyre slip.

It could also be just the way the car needs to be driven, eg likes a few revs as there is not a lot of torque at low revs.

I found that if you want to go somewhere fast eg fast overtake etc the trick is to make sure you have the revs.

Also I found the car can be a bit sensitive to fuel and seems to run better on higher octane eg BP Ultimate.

yeah i use caltex vortex 98 at the moment. I don't think its the dew on the road. More the engine loses power. Not sure if this is fixable then in your scenario i spose. But that means im losing fuel economy? By the book the car shouldn't be doing that?

Anyway at my next service il be making Ford aware of this problem.

spiikey1 I have the injected engineering tune installed too. I'm guessing it's just the car then not the tune. Have you taken the car to ford? What did they say?

ellisd Focus went in this morning for the clutch packs and seals. Says they need it for two days. Not a huge issue as transit here is reasonable. I'll report back tomorrow night or Wednesday with results

I have on two occasions asked my dealer for the latest software, and they were happy to do it.
