rjgfocus Here's my story: 2012 Focus with 38,000 miles. Shuddering and grinding noises have been getting progressively worse and I was about to take it into the dealer to see what they could do about it. Then on Sunday evening, the car just suddenly went out of gear (on the freeway) and wouldn't move for a few minutes. Check engine light came on. It did it three more times that evening but i made it home.

Monday was a holiday so couldn't do anything about it then. Took it into the dealer on Tuesday afternoon. Yesterday, he called and said it was TCM failure (as I suspected from reading all the helpful posts here). The problem was he didn't expect the part to come until Friday or Monday! This afternoon I was pleasantly surprised to get a phone call saying the car was ready to go. The part was waiting for him this morning!

So I just drove it home, (10-12 miles) and it drives much better now and I didn't hear any grinding. I kind of have my fingers crossed, but so far so good. I really like the car, and if it continues to drive like this, I will like it a lot better.

That's great news! We recently learned that my wifes new 2014 also needs a need clutch and as soon as they get us in, they'll get that taken care of... Just keep us updated from time to time. I'm curious to know how long the new rev F clutch last's and if anyone has experienced any issues since the new rebuild?
Welp... She's at 36k now and she has a shuddering again :( going to drive it more. Still not as bad as before

sailor Great!

Glad you found a way to make it work for you.

There is also a "read receipt" option avail. I seldom use, lets you know when a message is actually accessed by the recipient. Helps when you're unsure a message will get to/be noticed by the addressee (not all members check mail).

I did, but there was no indication of messages sent in my outbox. The way I got around this was to click "send to sent messages box" in the message options.

Took my car in for the shudder during 1st to 2nd issue again today, this is the third time I take it in, last time it tested at 200, just within spec, they finally got shudder above 250 today, didn't tell me exactly how much, but they will be replacing the clutch pack with revision F. The problem now is the wait, they told me the clutch pack is in back order and would take upwards of 3 months to arrive. I was also told that this dealer has about 50 cars ahead of mine on a list for clutch replacement, this is absolutely ridiculous, the car has 16500 miles on it.
Hi Los_Torta,

I want to see how I can best assist. Please send me a private message with your VIN, best daytime phone, full name, and dealer name/location. DO you have any updates since your post?

The dealer is also going to call around to other dealers to see if they can grab some clutches from them, in order to get me in faster. Although I am a little mad and disappointed, my dealership is trying hard to help me and I am pleased with that.

I will report back with any other info/updates.
Happy to hear your dealer's taking care of you, bitzy. My offer still stands to jump in, if needed. Just let me know, along with your mileage. :)

I'm sad to see you go, but should you ever return to the Ford Family, I'll be here to assist in any way.

I see your CSM's been working with your dealer. If you need me for anything, please let me know. :)

sailor No known differences between "D" & "F", the "F" version just packages replacement seals with the clutch pack.

Simpler than ordering/stocking multiple parts, and avoids any excuses for not replacing seals when doing a clutch pack.
