dbsimms63 This is the one I got:http://www.ebay.com/itm/MirrorMount-...item2c7ff078d0

Works very well. The only problem was the wire tap, really flimsy wires to back probe my mirrors wiring harness, so I used a solder-less connectors. The power cord has a built in, in-line fuse, so no worries there.

bama_focus Thank you! Exactly what I was wondering just couldn't tell in the picture. Looking to do this in my car soon, tired of slinky cord drooping down the dash.

mikesusz the detector came with a cig lighter plug (that has a mute button on it) and a coiled cord. i'm not using that anymore.

i replaced it with one of these (see pic), it was pretty cheap on ebay. you mount the button somewhere and then run the power supply to your fuse box (i used an add-a-fuse like nmd55 posted) and run the cord to the detector up the pillar and across above the headliner.

i've got a remote mute switch ("smartcord") mounted with double-sided tape down by my knee.

one important note - if you go this route, make sure the pillar you choose will reach where you want to power it (and optionally, where you want the mute button to be). i had everything wired under the dash and pulled up the passenger A-pillar before i realized (due to where i put the mute button) it wouldn't reach over to the mirror and down to the detector. i had to switch and run it up the driver's A-pillar instead. d'oh!

here are some pics of the mount i have:
I have a similar radar if not the same one is that the mute button that came with the radar that used to serve as the power plug?
