pfsantos A tad? Lol. I was using a good one and could tell it was working hard. Me and bro were almost shitting bricks. It didn't help i showed him YouTube "spring compressor fail" videos. :D

Here is the guide I used, worked out great. I installed front and rear Eibach Sportlines on my car in my driveway in a few hours with hand tools and a set of spring compressors.

You WILL want to get your car re-aligned ASAP to avoid wearing your tires funny.

As the others have mentioned, using a spring compressor is nerve racking as hell. I clamped my strut in a vice using one of the tabs on the strut thenused the spring compressor and tightened it down with an air impact. Everything went as planned, just a tad scary. LOL

Yea^^^^^^ You could have taken the strut assembly to a shop & had them bust them down. I've done that for a few guys before when I worked in a shop. It was great to use a wall mounted strut mounting unit. The coilover's are going to have a rougher ride then a fixed platform setup.

pfsantos The bitch in terms of labor is the work involved in compressing the spring to remove it from the strut and mounts. If you would have gotten coilover kit you're right it would have been less labor

DJFreshlySnipes I dropped my car 3.5 inches w an H&R racing spring set I purchased from FSwerks. Cost about 300 for the springs. Install is where you really spend money. It was about 900 total for the springs and install. If I could do it again I would have gone w a coil over shocks instead. It would have been a few hundred more but a much better value because install price would have been the same. That being said the car looks really good lowered... like it should have looked from the factory. I can't believe how high the car comes from the factory.

Vladdy24 Considering my focus is an SES, I believe it already has a sport suspension. Would that make a difference?

What shocks do you guys recommend?

pfsantos Get performance shocks. Not sure what the focus guys here prefer (I'm fairly new here). The damping of the OEM shocks will be too soft and worse now. Don't need coilovers unless u plan on serious and often track or competition...but some go all out when upgrading.

Vladdy24 I'm looking to buying the Eibach Sportline springs. My car has approx. 110k km. I intend on using the original shocks. Is that a bad idea? Should I replace the shocks while I'm at it. If yes, would I be better off looking into coilovers?

Any advice would be greatly appreciate it.
