sailor There ya go, that comparison shows it well.

Even the SVT setup with it's MkI wide top springs will fit in a MkII if the right top spring mount (top hat/spring perch) is used.

(Omni kit for older struts if used of course)

yeah, figured I'd do new ones anyways. Car has 80K miles on er so it wasnt replacing a pristine part.

heres a picture of the 08 converted to 06-7 (left) vs stock 08 (right)

Rath Rides got my 06-07 springs all mounted in my 08! Loving it so far.

all that's needed to make it work is the spring seat, bearing and upper mount.
all three circled items.

saved myself a ton of cash doing it this way.

sailor No, the important part of the Omni kit is the sleeve shim to adapt for the smaller early struts to fit in the later larger knuckles.

The replacement bolts are an extra, handy to have if needed.

For which brand you can look in the Suspension section for reviews, or post there for fresh comments. I'd probably pick between Bilstein & Koni, though if one had a direct fit avail. it would be tempting to go for that.

notfortheweak Thanks sailor. Would i have to drill a bigger hole for the omni kit hardware?

Also what stut should i go with out of the three. Hell what strut would YOU go with?

sailor Omni kit only IF you use struts made to fit '00-'07 model years.

Balance of hdwe. needs to fit the springs used, as shown in the original post here.

Boots can be a question mark, don't always fit across model year types or aftermarket selections.

notfortheweak I'll just post this here..

So i want to use an aftermarket shock on my 09 SE with my eibach pro springs.
I will need massive omni kit right?
Main choice of struts are
·Kyb agx
·Bilstien b8
·Koni STR.T

What hardware will i need to do the job right?
Eg..mounts..boots..insulators...

I don't recall if you need that or not.

Bushing: 2007 Ford

Top Hat: 2007 Ford

Spring Seat: 2007 Ford

BUT PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THIS WITH SOMEONE ELSE. Call FRPP's Techline and ask them which ones they include with the shock/strut kit (m18000-zx3b) http://www.fordracingparts.com/Contacts/ContactFrpp.asp

found this, I need all three circled items to make my 06-07 eibach springs work on my 08 struts, correct? So much conflicting info in that thread lmao.

and yes, I know I should have bought 08+ springs, but I got a killer deal on the 06-07 and knew i could make it work, just need to confirm those are the parts I need.

will still end up being way cheaper after buying those parts.
