sailor Even if you don't rub, the tires would be too wide for the rims, and changing ONLY the size not the aspect ratio as well means they'd be too large in diameter - changing gear ratios and speedometer readings (less acceleration, reads low vs. actual).

205-215 fits well on a 7" wide rim, and yours are 6" wide now.

Look at the next stock size up for comparison, 215/55-16 on a 6.5 or 7" wide rim.

Changes in rim width also use corresponding changes in offset to make it all fit right.

Cheddarhead Hey guys:

New MK3 Owner. I have a '12 S sedan with the 15" Steelies.

Not looking to upsize wheels per se...but I'm interested in putting as much rubber on the road as I can, at least for summer tires.

Stock tires are 195 /65...If I go to a 205 or a 215 width, am I likely to have any rubbing issues?

I'm assuming "no", given the availability of 17" and 18: wheel options.

TIA!

Gc2tone32 Hey guys I know the stock tire size for a 2012 18" Titanium wheels is 235/40 18. My question is has anyone put any 45's on them or any other tire size to give more meat on the tire. I appologize in advance if this question has been asked already.

Thx

04ZTSJelf I don't like those busy wheels. Not many oem wheels I like on newer cars.

RonMaiden I bet those MKZ wheels are approaching 30lbs a wheel if not more.
