IlikePizza Call me crazy, but if I was in the market for a new Focus I would still get one despite the DCT. The new ones seem spot on

charlie g getting back on the dct subject, reading this sites sister site for hyundai there is a 68 page thread about the Tucson and it's problem some DCT doing just like our focus and hyundai not doing much more then saying throwing the dash light and over heat warnings and slipping as normal operation
every post I read seems to mimic/repeat fords issues is it already past time to say goodbye DCT's ?

I've been seeing a cameo'd f150 around me throwing out a black exhaust and hearing a clattering motor when along side of it. that seems to say ford is playing with the long rumored LR 4.0 v8 diesel again.
they have to do something, gm has a diesel in the Colorado. dodge a v6 diesel in the 1500. Nissan has cummings diesel's in both pickups. a 4 in the frontier a 5.0 v8 in the titan Toyota has rumors flying of also going 5.0 cummins in the tundra

charlie g more likely due to the shortage of repair parts, and already long list of back orders, they will do like they did for my escape, replace the old # with a refined newer model, the 12 to 14's might get the 16's trans as a plug and play repair part. anything else would be to costly, changes to the body wire harness, control units, plus very costly epa/carb re-certs
when a dealers parts man, looks up say a dct clutch kit they may see NA use this number. that number may then be the one for the latest trans

I'd say stay in touch with that service manager; he has an inside voice at Ford Parts and Service Division.

See if he'll join Focus Fanatics. We'd love to get his take on the changes to the Mk3 and what the Mk4 will look like including Mk4 powertrain combinations.

Sounds like the DCT is going, gone.
Are you trolling again? ;)

I doubt it. He was very knowledgeable and even mention the website that has been mentioned here before that only service managers have access to.

but only time will tell.

He did share a piece of info with me though. His exact words were "Just between you and me, They have redesigned the transmission and are going to begin shipping them out for replacement in August/September"
