Maybe I should just do a couple more mods to this motor and let that be that. Header, lsd, flywheel. Maybe head and cams, then done. The car is getting up there in age and miles (76K). I can't decide what to do and I don't have a huge budget for this car. Uggh!
You'd need the 23 pcm to run the imtv that the 23 has. Or you could run the 20 manifold on the 20, but that is one of the +'s of the 23. If you like your zx3, Then why not go for your mods then? Price out a 23 head & then a 23 motor to give you an idea on cost. Get a Fwerk's header going plus a stealth muffler.

felixthecat Say hey David, Are you going to add a 23 head? Or a 23 motor? By the way your car looks cool. I'd say the crane cams would make a difference on your 20 motor. Do you have a header?

streetfocus Why do people type "thou"? Is that supposed to be "those"? Anyways, I was just curious to hear a review from someone who did cams on a D20. Glad to hear your 23 is so badass, though (I'm just jealous).

felixthecat I have the crane cams #224-0010 & they pull awesome= cams do make a BIG difference at least in a 23. And thou are the entry level ones, I'd love to do the 0012's, but this is a DD & they work great even to the point of increasing the mpg on the freeway. I went w/ the cranes cause of the lower lobe seperation= 110 degree's vs the 114's of crower's. Comparing the lobe of the cranes & oem's is like size 36c's vs saggy boobs. Big difference well worth the cash.

streetfocus So what was the result after the cams were installed? We need closure!

fletchusn I let a buddy of mine drive it he missed a shift from fith to third gear and found first gear instead. We were on I-5 in Oregon when it happened. He was trying to pass a slow car in the fast lane when he did it. I put up a thread about it. It is under engine removal or something like that. I put some pictures and the hole store is there as well. When I sell the cams I'm selling them as the set they cam in. My wife isn't reall happy that I bought something that isn't going to work for me. It happens though.

focussport423 what happened to make the car break imi may ask? and ow much for the cams..... might want the exhaust one lol.... only stock on mine is the cams
01-22-2012 09:45 PM
fletchusn If that is the case then I will just stay with the stock cams. I don't know how long I will be keeping this car anyway. They are new never used cams so I'm thinking they will be up for sale here in the next couple of days. I just want to drive my car again. The sooner I can do that the happier I will be.
