|amc49||Trans is dead if the fluid level is up and correct Bub, you either get it or you don't. You can classify faulty clutch engagements until the end of all time and space and car still won't be moving.|

|Imbo1414||True but yesterday when i put it in reverse before i had put it on jack stands you can feel it shake a lil when shifting in reverse like it wants to and i kept shifting it from park to reverse then it started to go in reverse a little and you can see it trying to go in reverse it never did that before|

|amc49||Clicking going into reverse is certainly not normal, but that could be trans mount, however the reverse should still be working to move the car.|

|Byron King||Don't just completely ignore amc49, transmissions are not bullet proof, get to finding a transmission or a place to take it to so they can do it|

|Imbo1414||Today i noticed when i put my ford on jack stands every time i put it in reverse to park it makes a clicking noise in trans so i dont know whats wrong with it and it still wont go in reverse|

Well, now you know how well the 'conventional wisdom' and automatic transmissions work together.....................all you people who the magic bullet is 'change all the solenoids' for.
Look at your mileage, trans may be well worn out. The driver end covers wear to lose reverse commonly first. It messes with the direct clutch hydraulic circuit too, which results in 3-4 gear (OD light) issues. A seized up low OWC can possibly do it too.

|Imbo1414||I have a ford focus se 07 it wouldnt go in reverse one day out of nowhere and the od turn on and off so i changed all the solenoids because my code reader said solenoid d was stuck on so i bought the kit and changed all of them and it still wont go in reverse|

|Cwallyman||Fluid looks full I was going to add some see how the level changes no noises or nothing Rpms change when going into reverse but that's it I ordered a and b solenoid was going to replace them but no codes|

Is the fluid OK and up to level? If so then a line pressure check in order, sounds like you may have a catastrophic fail there. Hear any clunks or other noises when it happened? Failing all gears at once says no oil pressure or broken part.
If it were one of the earlier design ATX that has the spindly oil pump driveshaft I'd say stripped the flats on it but these drive old school with flats on convertor snout; they don't break near so common but not impossible.

OK I'm at a loss I usually find what I'm looking for on this form but it seems like no one else is having this issue or I just haven't found it so if someone could point me in the direction that would be great I have a 2005 Ford focus ZX3 with automatic transmission it will go into park and will come out of park no problem but when you put it in drive or any other gear it does nothing it doesn't engage at all I don't want to start just replacing parts or the transmission for no reason I'm not the kind of person I ordered the solenoids and a gasket and filter and probably will change them but I can't for the life of me find out any information that I can check with my Obd2 app in the app it shows the transmission range sensor is being selected the right gear when I put it in drive Shows drive when I put it in reverse it shows reverse but it does not do anything what am I missing please help
At a red light one day out of nowhere I go to step on the gas and it doesn't go anywhere towed home and have been waiting to fix it
