Mrlandy OK, All done. Made snorkel brace and grille piece from box aluminum. Heat wrapped snorkel. Now I need to modify the 2 tiny air tubes that are part of stock air box.

dyn085 Why can't you post pics of the hood up with the snorkel installed?

Water intrusion is not an issue needing to be dealt with, btw. Short of driving into a tsunami, not enough water will be able to get into that small of an opening to cause an issue.

Yes, I made the model have a bigger end and shortened the length by an inch and a half. The part that goes into the air box I left a wide lip on, then traced the coupler from the stock snorkel and traced the stock flange to the printed snorkel, drilled and cut off excess with dremel. The first print was fine, came down right below the stock intake vent so I wouldn't have to shift right or left.

I printed a second one because I wanted the exposed snorkel to angle (down) lower for water drain. That's why it looks tipped forward. There are drain holes for water right under the opening. I have half of the grill dedicated to the new snorkel in front of vents, no cutting, of the shroud, just enlarged enough to fit the snorkel through. Doesn't get in the way of the active shutter and no overheating even though half of the grill is dedicated to the huge snorkel.

I noted .3 more miles per gallon, no biggie. It does seem to have more constant acceleration without the bog down at takeoff.

you can see from the opening (above) cut where the air box lines up with snorkel (below)

I would wait for Mrlandy to post the pictures showing the install, this shouldn't fit the Mk3 correctly without being cut up because it's designed for the ST. Look at the location of the snorkel opening on Mrlandy's pic and then take a look at Velossa Tech's pictures of it installed on ST's for comparison because the hood is the same between the two models.

You can get it printed online from places like this:

3D Printing Price Check - compare 3D printing prices for FDM, SLS, DMLS, Polyjet, metals, and more from eight vendors (and counting)

Upload the file (make sure you check it hasn't been resized) and it will give you best prices based on material. It will be at your door in 3 days.

$105 (free ship) any color from here (ABS): https://www.makexyz.com
