sobhall ^ Good for you, ricomti! My wrangling with Ford continues.

ricomtl Well today is the last day I have the crappiest car I've ever driven. The car has been in the garage over 32 days during the past 36 months. The transmission shuddering never got repaired even after 3 full clutch pack replacements. In the past 3 months, the shuddering has been so violent that I didn't even trust it for my summer road trip. I went ahead and paid for a car rental!

The transmission issues aren't the only headache I got with this car. I've had paint chips peeling off in the tail light area (now rusted even with their botch up repairs), chrome trims around doors peeling off, horn stopped working, hatchback strings broke twice, loud banging when braking (this was 5 minutes after owning my new car), link kit had to be changed after a year, suspension loud noise in the winter, steering wheel silver coating peeled off and edges were extremely sharp (got a deep cut on my finger!), rain sensor stopped working twice, issues with the light sensor (day/night) for the auto headlight feature.. and the list goes on.

After exhausting escalations within Ford - they told me they couldn't do anything about breaking the lease early. I was stuck in dealing with the dealer which happens to be the most stubborn and unprofessional people I've ever came across in the industry.

As soon as I involved their CEO/owner, they've agreed in waiving off 2 payments out of the 8 payments I have left on my 48 month lease and finally apologized for their behavior and for the car which clearly turned out to be a lemon. I'm bringing the car back and still have to cought up 3K from my pocket so I can't stop driving this nightmare.

I'm really happy it all ends today. Good luck to all others who are going through similar situations!

Cheers all - this forum has always been an awesome place for advice and sharing! Thanks! :D

I would think we would have seen something by now, will be a blessing and a curse if 2015 is fine while 2012-2014 are still dealing with it.

Probably not enough 2015 sales for anyone to yet complain. And 2016s on the way.

Hi: mr_cassandra... Took Ford a few years to "Wreck tums" fry the problems. Maybe they've done it at last!!!

dESucoF @mr_cassandra - too soon to tell maybe? I had my 2014 for over a year and 30k miles before a minor shudder started happening at slow starts. Other than the shudder I had no issues or complaints about the car or tranny performance.

Gonz0thegr8 Wow. After reading all of these posts as if they were written by me, I am discouraged. Same issue with the shuddering returning after the winter. Here I thought the car would somehow be great once and for all. Gonna take it to the dealer this week to get what seems to be a "temporary" fix (clutch, seals, etc.).

Anyone know if Ford would consider trading my car for the same car... Except with a manua transmission? As far as I'm concerned, if they cannot do something incredible at this point, I will be making the move to another car company.

Shame.

@nd set of clutch packs on order

So, I had the noise and shudder from the get go. June of 2013, at 36K miles, the clutch packs and hardware were replaced. Smooth sailing for almost a year. July of 2014, at 52K miles, back to the dealer, this time I was told the shudder was not excessive, and was charged about $120 as a "diagnosis fee". I did complain to Ford Customer Service, who refunded me the money. The shudder continued and worsened, and yesterday, at just over 70K miles, I took it back to the Dealer. I was happy to receive a phone call notifying me the clutches would be replaced again. Hopefully this time the latest revision will be a permanent fix.

Other than the transmission shudder, I like the car. It gets over 34 mpg in combination driving. Its fun and practical for my needs.
