02ZX5cominalive If your car has A/C it helps to remove the 4 long mounting bolts off the compressor. Just enough to slide it over to allow for more clearance. I figured that one out in a mall parking lot late one night trying to switch mine out.

No wait, forget all that. That helps for the water pump. Alt goes in from the top. A lot of wiggling helps. No removing engine mount for me. But I did remove the plastic tower to get it in a remounted it once it was down there.

pinch024 did you take the bottom mount off? that is a swivel mount and if you take it off you can rotate the engine fwd, and nothing will break if you take the mount off. thats how it says to replace the alternator in the haynes manual, and thats how i did mine and it makes life so much easier

rachellindsey2 It's the same size but like I said before the old one was a pain to get out cause of this pipe looking thing is in the way and my hubby had to use a pry bare to push the engine forward to remove it but I was told it is not a good ideal to do that cause something can break

Alternator wont fit

alternator wont fit something is in the way underneath cant even get it in the car some long pipe is in the way

JCH841 Is it the same as your old one? If brackets, terminals, or other protrusions are differant it may not fit.

how do I put the alternator back in it was a pain in the but to get the old one out and I'm having trouble putting the new one in seems like there is not a lot of space underneath to get it up there I also tried putting it in from the top but the bolts are in the way where its supposed to go please help do I use a pry bare to get the new one in
